As some of you may already know, our Minecraft server is running Craftbukkit, which is not just a mod for the Minecraft server, but a seperate piece of server software, though it is based on the vanilla server. This means that when an update comes out, unfortunately, we can't just update immediately: We have to wait for the Bukkit team to release a server update to match Mojang's.
Because of this, we must wait. It's to risky to open the server on vanilla especially since it enables all fire spread, lava spread, and lava fires and it enables build for absolutely everyone, the use of buckets and flint&steel, TNT, and the destruction and placement of obsidian.
So, sorry about the delay, but there's nothing I can do. We just have to sit and wait.

Ok, so this is what twitter looked like as of 8:36
2 hours ago, they gave this estimate for time
"...I'll say an hour but it could be 10 minutes or it could be 5 hours or two days."
31 Minutes ago, here's a progress report
"...85%+"
10 minutes ago, another progress report (they've started testing)
"One file left. Then we're into testing!"
