Good evening.
My name is Jonathan Hamm, though most of you will know me better as AncientGuru. I am the purveyor of wisdom and insight, after all. I'm a 27 year old Game Designer with degrees in Computer Science and Game Arts & Design. I currently work without pay due to the poor economy, but hope to get some more gainful employment in the near future.
I also work as a stream op for Tom's webstream, as well as help admin these forums and I serve as the current stream treasurer.
I've been using computers since the days of the Apple IIe and Commodore 64 computers. Currently parked on a Vista 64 system running an Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz with 8GB DDR2 RAM, a 300 GB 10K RPM main drive, two NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTs in SLI, and Creative SB X-Fi sound card.
I'm a fan of all games, but I have very strong opinions on what is or is not good. I am not forgiving of flaws in a game that detract from my enjoyment, but I do enjoy games that are intentionally difficult. I play almost all types of games, but RPGs are my favorite. As people will have noticed from my involvement in Japan Nights, I am also an anime fan with a love for Mahou Shoujo.
Outside of that, I'm a huge fan of fantasy novels. I've got a very large collection of signed books and have read approximately 200 of them. I'm also a collector of video game music. My collection is quite extensive.

"What if everything you see is more than what you see - the person next to you is a warrior and that empty space is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto
