My mother has also had misfortunes with forgetting stuff like that.
example: turning on the wrong burner and melting/burning stove burner covers that are metal or tin plates.

Yeah, mine's done the same kinda things too haha Once my mum left a large plastic mixing bowl too close to the stove top while boiling water, and by the time she realized it, the bowl was already half melted and running down the side of the stove and all over the counter xD
