So, quite literally, my favorite food of all time... is tomatoes!!!! Any kind of red tomato! (green can suck it lol)

Tomatos can be a hit and miss for me, it depends on how they are prepared.

I'm fine with tomato soup, tomato puree but not so much ketchup. It depends on the brand though, but i'm just not fond of it *shrug* just like I don't usually like salt on my chips unless they are from the chip shop and even then, they tend to either put on too much salt or too much vinegar.. urgh.

I actually very greatly dislike all tomato soups and all ketchups! not sure about the puree though >.> ... haha

My friends and I are going to start practicing to enter a pulled pork bbq contest next year, and I am looking for ideas for creating a new bbq sauce.

my grandpa used to put relish (or cocktail sauce, which has relish in it) in his sauce and it tasted amazing. i could give you his recipe, buuut

Go through different recipes, see what people say works really well and what doesn't, and then you just have to experiment. Just fyi, if you can figure out a way to ship things quickly in refrigeration and it not cost a fortune, I volunteer my services as a guinea pig

Personally, I like very sweet barbeque-type sauces, so I'm all about the addition of brown sugar!

I've been having a lot of porridge recently <3. Shame I don't have honey for it though

I love Food and Food Stuffs. I don't think I've ever been called a foodie but I like everything from making food to eating it XD.

Also, one site I've seen a lot of shops mention (uk based stuff) is http://www.just-eat.co.uk/ but that won't be of use unless you live here because it works with some restaurants to let you order from this site.

Here are some tidbits about some scottish food related stuff that you may or may not know:

- If you go to a chip shop (colloquially known as a chippie) in glasgow, you'll be asked if you want salt and vinegar on your single or supper (single means something on its own, supper means something and chips.) but if you go to Edinburgh, you'll be asked if you want salt and sauce (usually ketchup or possibly brown sauce).

- Scots eats porridge with salt traditionally, english eat it with sugar or honey. I just eat my scottish brand porridge with sugar, do i feel bad? not really

I've made savory oatmeal before, added spices and an egg on top and cheese It was pretty good!

A good po college student's fairly substantial meal: get some normal ramen, add in a few veggies, crack an egg into it, cook the ramen, and enjoy! I think it's pretty awesome haha

Here's a recipe I'd love to try out (but must be messy as anything).

I've also been reading a lot of menus recently, as part of trying to keep me busy and... to make me hungry XD. Some for restaurants in glasgow that I already listed above, some japanese restaurants that I'd love to visit in the future such as Mos Burger.

Mostly I like to look at the pictures (if there are any) and the descriptions, or in the case of mos burger, practice my katakana reading skills to see if there is anything in the food I wouldn't be able to eat, such as mayonnaise.

I'm gonna have to try that one Saty and I've been browsing allrecipe since i first thought about doing the bbq thing. I've done this, and it's pretty good. Incidentally, I found ways to make a lot of food in my dorm room without normal kitchen appliances, it was an interesting challenge! A grilled cheese maker (sandwich press?) is great as a replacement skillet.
