At no time will inappropriate language be acceptable, whether written or spoken. All censored material is controlled and filtered through the communities predefined list. Anyone using inappropriate language will be removed with a temporary ban lasting no less than thirty (30) minutes. Censorship evading (including self-censoring) will not be tolerated. Try to act intelligent with your conversations. "Profanity is for those who lack the creativity and intelligence to otherwise express themselves."
II. PLEASE CONDONE PROPER NETIQUETTE
Become familiar with what is considered good netiquette. Please avoid bullying, trolling, flooding, flaming (such as spelling flame, flamebait), flame wars, spamming, ban evading, disruptive nicknames, disrespecting/ignoring moderators' directions, excessive caps, advertising, backseat moderating, backseat gaming, or part-banning. Please use the simplest forms of emotes. Gimmicky emotes, especially those bearing Unicode text, are not allowed. Heavy consequences will be in place for those in violation. Any user in violation, whether intentional or not, are liable of receiving a temporary ban up to no more than twenty-four (24) hours. Disrespect to the stream host will not be tolerated. Develop an amiable reputation in order to gain respect as a member of the community.
III. DO NOT POST ANY INTERNET LINKS
Internet links, in whole or in part of any kind, whether related or not, are not acceptable in the chat room. Those wishing to post an internet link will be required to address a chat room operator to post their link.
IV. DO NOT REVEAL ANOTHER USERS PERSONAL INFORMATION
Please do not publicly state or request another individuals personal information. Please use private messaging. Distribution of your own information is not recommended.
V. DO NOT ASK, DISCUSS OR SHARE ANY VIDEO GAME ROM INFORMATION
do not ask where you can find ROM's, ask a user to send you a ROM or begin any discussions having to do with ROM images. The discussion of emulators, translation patches and custom hacks are acceptable.
VI. KEEP DISCUSSIONS RELEVANT TO THE CURRENT TOPIC BEING DISCUSSED
Avoid disrupting the flow of an ongoing discussion with completely unrelated or inappropriate comments. Out of respect, observe the chat room before initiating conversation. Avoid inappropriate/controversial conversations, such as bans, console wars, PCvMac wars, sports, religion, ponies and politics.
VII. PLEASE SEEK PERMISSION TO CO-HOST BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO SO
A big part of our show is the involvement of you, the community. If you would like to co-host with us, please review Rule VIII. Please do not excessively ask to be added to a call as a co-host, whether already in progress or not. Your best option is to ask me through the chat. If I don't respond within your first request, try asking the current co-host (if there is anybody on) or an active moderator if you could be added (they will check for my approval). Your final option would be to send me a message on Skype. Please type !mumble in the chat to learn how to set up for co-hosting. Please make sure you mic/sound environment is in good working order before you attempt to join the call. Push-to-Talk is absolutely mandatory for every co-host, and if you are echoing/causing an echo, you will be removed immediately and will be returned once you have resolved the issue.
VIII. PLEASE ACT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMES WHEN CO-HOSTING
There are often special opportunities where you are able to broadcast your voice over the live web stream, often in situations for co-hosting various segments of the show. This is a privilege extended to you, and we ask for your cooperation. Present yourself professionally. All stream rules still apply. Under most situations during WiiPlay's, you have an obligation to know the game well enough to cover the game progress for the current show, read the chat, assist me through the game when requested and remain focused at all times. Other rare situations (which will be made public previous to the responsibilities) will not require you to provide knowledge of the gameplay. Instead, you may provide additional commentary as long as your discussions relate to the game being played or through the hosts choosing. Please co-host in a noiseless environment, and refrain from being distracted by playing other games. Keep conversations appropriate to what is happening on stream. Do not abuse this privilege using this opportunity to promote yourself or troll others. If you join the Mumble server without receiving advanced permission from TomBobBlender, you will be removed. You will be removed from the call (and quite possibly the chat) if we feel that 'you're not ready yet'.
IX. YOU MUST ONLY USE ONE REGISTERED USER NAME
You cannot have multiple accounts. Please decide on a single primary user name. You do have the option to temporarily change your chat room nickname. Your alternate nickname MUST contain a portion of your original name in order for people to recognize who you are. Do NOT use alternative accounts in order to evade a ban or to abuse other chatroom features. Any user in violation, whether intentional or not, are liable of receiving a temporary ban up to no more than twenty-four (24) hours.
*IMPORTANT* Your safety is important to us. If you have a concern, feel you are being mistreated by a moderator or other stream members, or believe to have been banned unfairly, please do not hesitate to contact me through Skype or chatroom PM: TomBobBlender. It is advised NOT to approach other moderators.
Ban Rules
Breaking any of these rules will result in a temporary ban from the chat. The first such infraction will result in a 15 minute ban. Every ban thereafter will double the length of time you are banned (30 minutes for the second, 1 hour for the 3rd, 2 hours for the 4th, etc). Please respect these rules as we want everyone to stay in the chat and have a good time! These rules will not be retroactive. All bans which occurred before 8/16/2012 will not count toward your total. Your first ban will still be for 15 minutes. Auto-bans for flooding, cursing, caps, revolving door, and banhammer roulette, will still carry their normal time lengths and will not be covered under the doubling rule.
