Re: Shocktober 2010!!
Seconding Grim Fandango. It would work way better as one of the main Shocktober titles, mostly because of the length. There's no way it could be completed if you only played it during Game Over for a week. But then again, it's not really a "horror" game at all.
Oh, and also Day of the Tentacle (Maniac Mansion 2) if you didn't play that last year.

3rd and final? Playthrough of Eternal Darkness. In order to finish the story. If you beat the 2nd play though last year, since I forget. Castlevania and Resident Evil as usual I would assume. Maybe some Fatal Frame and some Silent Hill action.

I haven't been here for a Shocktober, but if Tom hasn't played the Bioshock series or Deadspace, they would be good to play.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
Tom hasn't even finished the first one yet. He's playing through the series. So we'd have to finish Silent Hill first. Then on to 2 and 3. i'm not sure we'd have time to get to 4.Mappster wrote:Friday the 13th for NES

Also, you know the rules, wyvern X3 you can't reserve cohosting spots.
Anyway, as for Fatal Frame, if i'm still the only one who has ever played it and can cohost, we probably wont be able to do it. it's been several years since i've played it and i simply won't be able to remember what to do. plus i doubt tom remembers where he was. hopefully someone else has played.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
I think it was mentioned on the old forums that it never got to be played last year, so the Trilby Series(5 Days a Stranger, Trilby's Notes, 6 Days a Sacrafice, and 7 Days a Stranger) would be great to have. All 4 of them are quite creepy, especially the last 2.
Also, Typing of the Dead would be a GREAT Shocktober game. There's nothing like trying to type out a complete sentence while very angry zombielike creatures rush towards you XD

I have a few ideas on what we could play some of these game are alittle on the action side but are horrin nun-the-less: Bioshock2 (Tom played #1), Snowy mountain(might have a different name. it's for the Wii), Onimusha(like RE but with Swords and samurai and in fudal japan), Alan Wake, F.E.A.R., theres a few more, but I can't think of the name right now.
Re: Shocktober 2010!!
I'm pretty sure Tom started 5 Days a Stranger last year and quit early on because most of the chat complained that it was too "boring". It's a shame, that really is a great series. I'd love to see him give it another shot.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
tom already played Ghostbusters, FTW. i'm pretty sure the games he already played are on the old forums. and max, alan wake would be a great game for tom to play i second that one.
i've never played, but i heard Condemned is a pretty creepy game. maybe tom could try that. also, Obscure 1&2. (haven't played the first one yet).

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
Hm... Tom could perhaps stream Halloween themed episodes of certain shows or maybe even scary movies. I don't know how well that'd work but perhaps for game over or something, he could do that sometimes.
Anyway as for games... Well I don't really know too many scary games and the ones I do, Tom has played. Well actually now that I think about it... He could play Exmortis if he hasn't already. OH! And Eversion! DO IT! But nobody tell him what the game entails. He needs to be surprised.
(Oh and more screamers. Lots of screamers.)

Penumbra and it's sequel...never played them but I hear they are psychologically creepy
Same company is working on a game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent due out in August or September, and it's a creepfest as well.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
First on the list for Shocktober this year will be the games he didn't finish last year. Eternal Darkness 2nd playthrough/3rd playthrough, #DAS series, The Path (if new computer is acquired by then), Silent Hill, Bioshock (finish) and Bioshock 2 (perhaps). That's 4-5 games already. Tom has already said he will play Alan Wake for Shocktober, so that's a 6th game. That will only leave 1-2 spots for WiiPlays.
L4D/L4D2 will be available as a game over game on occasion, but they have been played many times and there are tons of other games that have not been covered. They'll get far more chances to get played.
Here is the list for last Shocktober:
WiiPlay
Monday - Left 4 Dead (completed)
Tuesday - Zombies Ate My Neighbors (unsure if completed, but see no reason to continue)
Wednesday - Silent Hill 1 (as chosen by stream)
Thursday - Eternal Darkness 2nd Run through
Friday - Bioshock
Saturday - The Path (unable to be played)
Sunday - #DAS series (Tom quit playing this due to stream complaints...which is not cool guys. These were picked by stream members and if you don't like the games, don't watch that day. Plain and simple)
Game Over
Week of 1st-3rd - Ghosts 'n' Goblins (NES), Super Ghouls & Ghosts (SNES), Nightmare on Elm Street (NES)
week of 4th-10th - Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonence, Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
week of 11th-17th - Resident Evil Series, Clock Tower (SNES)
week of 18th-24th - Fatal Frame (PS2), Grim Fandango (PC)
week of 25th-31st - Ghostbusters (360), Halloween the Movie (Atari 2600)
I wasn't around during Shocktober, so I do not know which, if any, of these game over games were actually played. My guess is probably very few of them. All game over games on this list, unless they were completed last year, are still available for this year. Exception might be for the castlevania GBA games, which could be a WiiPlay.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
I think that that list is sufficient but I would prefer not to see any L4D games during the whole month of shocktober, since it's played too often, in my opinion. It seems doubtful that The Path would be possible, and I'm not sure if we still want to see #DAS. As for replacements though, i'm mostly out of ideas. Perhaps the Castlevania games in the Game Over list could be conglomerated into a Shocktober slot.

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
There are multiple people who still want to see the #DAS series, so I have no plans to remove it. As for the Path, it's *only* possible if Tom gets a new PC before Shocktober. I know he is looking into getting one, but I do not know when it will happen. Will probably replace it with the Castlevania GBA games if needed.

I think Ju-On: The Grudge for Wii would be a fun game to watch Tom play.
Here is a youtube video of the Totally Rad Show guys playing it (the very video that made me suggest this) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkRBfCDzwyQ
WARNING: I don't remember if the video has any swearing or not, but I will say here that it DOES to be safe if you guys care (pretty sure you do).

I know I said this but I really think Eversion would be a good game, if Tom hasn't played it already. Probably good for Game Over, since it's pretty short. I think the other games are good too. I wonder what Tom's opinion is on it...

"What if everything you see is more than what you see - the person next to you is a warrior and that empty space is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto

Re: Shocktober 2010!!
This is for everyone: If the game is not readily available for purchase, Tom will have to be able to find the game somewhere. If you can help do the legwork to find a location to purchase the game, online or at retail, that's helpful.
Also, suggesting games is fine, but we also will need people who know the games and can cohost. That means at least two people with knowledge of the game who will be available on specific days.
I'd like to ask that everyone who is suggesting games indicate their experience with the games and availability to cohost. Also, indicate if you want the game as a WiiPlay or Game Over game. This will be very helpful in my finalization of the Shocktober schedule.
We will have approximately 2 WiiPlay slots available, but the game over list can be much longer. Games without good cohosts will not be WiiPlay candidates, but can still be Game Over games. If Tom is unable to proceed in the game or doesn't enjoy it, it's easy to switch games during Game Over, but the WiiPlay games will need to be much more solid in their slots and cohosts.
