What Kind of a Computer Do You Have?

Post by TomBobBlender » Wed Dec 29, 2010 6:52 am

I own two (2) computers that I use on a daily basis. I have my 2007 MacBook for school work/Skype/Colloquy/Music Editing and my PC for everything else. Here are the specifications:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

CPU: Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

MEMORY: CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M2A1333C9

VIDEO CARD: ZOTAC ZT-40301-10P GeForce GTX 465 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

POWER SUPPLY: XION PowerReal AXP-850R14N 850W ATX 12V v2.2 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Purchased: October, 2010
Price: ~$1,000
Purchased Through: newegg.com
Assembly: self-built

I am very happy with this machine. Though it was a headache for a couple of weeks adjusting to a new machine, hardware and operation system, I am very pleased overall.

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y Desktop PC (pre-built)

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz 3600 MHz HT3
MEMORY: 8 GB PC3-10600 MB/sec
VIDEO CARD: ATI Radeon HD5450
MOTHERBOARD: Foxconn H-RS880-uATX (Aloe) 5200 MT/s
HARD DRIVE: 1 TB SATA 3.0 Gb/sec 5400 RPM
POWER SUPPLY: 300W

I bought it back in May after the hard drive crashed on my previous XP machine, an eMachines T5212. I still have that PC as well, but it has a new hard drive (the old one was 200 GB, the new one is at least 300 GB). It has an Intel Pentium D Processor (Dual Core running at 2.66GHz), an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video card, and 1024 MB DDR2 memory.

And if you want to count it, I recently obtained a Google Chrome Notebook. I don't really know the specifications of it, though.

"What if everything you see is more than what you see - the person next to you is a warrior and that empty space is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto
